Nootau rose from his laying place on the ground. He eyes the reddened sun that had begun to set. Dusk was approaching within an hour. He had been sleeping since yesterday morning. Yet his muscles still felt sore and tired, his fur ungroomed around his stomach. Thirst had settled on the back of his tongue, and he swallowed his saliva, the faint taste of blood lingered in his mouth from sipping it his entire life.
He thought back to his last meal, recorded loosely in the depths of his mind. It had been a large goat that he growled away from a lone cougar. It took a while but eventually he won the dispute, and had feated generously for two days in a row, his stomach stuffed to the limit the whole period of feasting. That same goat was all that had been in his stomach for at least three weeks- he had long before learned to adapt to random feasts and fasting.
Nootau came upon the river, weaving between the trees, and stood on the muddy bank, the fur on his paws collecting the grime and in turn his paw pads left distinct indentions. He sipped at the slow-moving waters, and let a swimming insect that had entered his mouth drop onto the mud.

A lone wolf as white as snow appeared on the opposite bank, fur billowing as if there was a strong breeze. His eyes were a warm golden hue, friendly and content. As the white wolf, called Snowcap, approached the river to quench his thirst, he noticed another being in the air. He lifted his slender maw and took in the scents of the forest, this new wolf included. It was a male, though he didn't seem to have any other wolf scents on him. Snowcap relaxed a little; at least he wasn't on a pack land.
He thought back to when he was part of a pack: a young pup in a large, varied clan. Snowcap smiled when he remembered his mother. She was pure white, just like him. But her eyes were green like emeralds. She had since died, leaving Snowcap to fend for himself, for the rest of the pack was destroyed.
Jumping back to the present, Snowcap jogged slowly beside the river towards the other wolf. When he was a few meters upriver of him, Snowcap bent down to lap the cold water. Then he crossed, jumping from stone to stone daintily. Once on the other side he shook himself, then barked a friendly greeting to the wolf, hoping that he was no threat.

His green eyes glinting from between the trees, Anthoro watched as the white wolf greeted the other. He scented the air, smelling the scents of the forest and of the two wolves ahead. Thirst had been tugging at his tongue for a few days.
He decided he would take the chance to take a drink form the water, weary as he was. He had always been the weakling, back before his father had driven him out. Anthoro grimaced, thinking about how he had been blamed for his brother's felony.
He returned his thoughts to the water, and stepped from the trees. He lowered his muzzle to the water, keeping quiet, although ears hat were almost red didn't help. Taking a few gulps from the river, he watched the others.

Nootau flinched and stepped backwards as the silver-white wolf barked. He seemed harmless, yet he still held out his tail crookedly, and gazed over the wolf warily. Subconsciously he took note of the scent of the other, a loner for sure, a male, from some place away from here, certainly.
""Where the hell did you come from?" He hadn't meant to sound so offensive, but he was slightly paranoid at the moment, and had been caught by surprise. Nootau was vaguely aware of the other wolf who was at the other side of the river, but stared fixedly at the light male who had appeared. Through the corner of his eye he noticed the smaller wolf, probably just wanting to pass through unnoticed like a possum also.

Snowcap leaned back and lifted a paw, taken aback by this new wolf's response. His snowy-silver ears shied backwards, suddenly timid. On instinct, the silvery wolf bowed, his tail nestled between his legs. One foreleg was stretched out in front of him while the other was tucked underneath. This low bow looked rather knightly.
Without rising, Snowcap spoke: "I am sorry for surprising you," His voice was calm and pure, the type that was confident and warm. "I was drinking from this river when I caught your scent. Though I am fine as a loner, company always brings me pleasure." Snowcap bobbed his head, then continued.
"I am Snowcap, or simply Snow if you desire. I come from the lands of the north where I lived in harmony with the tundra. I came down here when the Caribou no longer came to my territory for summer. I hope you don't mind my presence here...?"
Snowcap cocked his head to the side in question, his eyes shifting from warm gold to a darker amber.

A Gray wolf marked with a midnight blue stripe and blue right leg entered the area. Her Blue eyes scanned the area and her nostrils picked up the scent of a few nearby wolves, 2 very close to each other.
Inaya sauntered over to the river for a well-deserved drink. She had been wandering unfamiliar woods for a few days, after choosing to leave her pack, with no family members left. The cool water flowed down the young wolf's throat and she picked up her head.

Nootau stared at the bowing male for a moment, then his eyes glimmered in a grin at his great amiable attitude. He remembered his own virtues and returned to his less-defensive voice.
"Snow. It's okay, this is neutral land, I don't mind your presence at all. In fact, this season more lone wolves seem to be ending up here. Maybe a pack will form someday, to bring little voices to the air."
His tail swayed gently at the thought. He looked over at the small gray wolf and whimpered politely in his direction. Another scent formed at the walls of his nose.. he licks the black, leathery skin to make the aroma more clear.. a female this time, young too..

Anthoro brought his head up from the water, listening with interest. He didn't think they sounded very aggressive. Maybe he should inthrodouce himself. He decided he would.
Anthoro padded slowly over to the three wolves, scenting the air as he caught the female's scent. He took a breath, then spoke.
"Hello. I'm Anthoro, is everyone here a loner?"

Little did the others know that not far away was another lone wolf. Her fur was a white as morning snow and her eyes as blue as the sky. She padded through the forest following the trail of some injured animal. She had been tracking it for a few days now, but she still had no luck in finding it. She sniffed the ground around her. She then caught the scent of something she hadnt smelt in a while. A wolf. The scent was coming from the stream. She raised her head and howled. The howl was long and withdrawn but she hoped she had caught the attention of the other wolves. This howl meant one thing. That Tsuki was a loner, and that she needed friends.

Nootau stares around at all of the various faces, the long-furred, white wolf, the smaller grey one with crimson ears, and the cobalt-streaked grey female. "Loners. Yes. Not the way a wolf should be, i suppose. My spirit is as social as yours, would you say?" Not once does he mention his name, a questionable thing. His tail wags softly behind him, nor submissive nor assertive. His ears caught the sound, a moment identified it.. a howl far off. Another loner! Nootau knew he had reached a point of no return in his life, no more solitary wandering for a while, it seemed.

Tsuki ran towards the place where the scent was coming from. She stopped at the end of the tree line and looked out. She spotted a small stream and beside it was a small group of wolves. If this was a pack, they may chase her away. Her tail dropped slightly but she walked out towards the stream. The other wolves looked at her. She showed her neck to show that she was no threat.
"I mean you no harm" she said in a rather english accent (lol had to be done im afraid). "I only wish to join this pack. My names Tsuki. Ive been a loner for some time now."

Tsuki's tail dropped. She hadnt meant to offend any of them. She bowed her head slightly and spoke so quietly that it was barely a whisper.
"Who is your Alpha?"

Inaya pranced over to the group of wolves, feeling much better. she slowed down as she approached. She watched the wolves and had overheard them talking. She needed other wolves to be with, so she decided to introduce herself.
"Hello. My name is Inaya and i heard that all you are loners as well..." She turned dark blue eyes toward Nootau, who seemed to her, to be the most dominant here. Her tail hung down in the normal posistion.

Anthoro raised his ears as he heard the howl, and watched as the white wolf stepped out of the forest. Scenting the air, he found out it was a female. Looking around him, he marvelled at the number of loners that had accumulated in the clearing. Enough for a pack, he thought.
He wagged his tail as a greeting to the others, relaxing a bit as he took in the calm feeling in the area.
"Funny how we all ended up here, isn't it?" he asked, a bit timid.
